Shells-
Another painting in my series of shells. 80/90cm oil painting. The back ground is done with a combinations of transparent colors. Using liquid gel for oil paints, in the past I used to do this with turpentine, but liquid gel is a better solution. Turps leaves your paintwork looking dull, sure you can apply varnish to the painting at the end but its best to wait a couple of months before applying varnish, liquid gel dries fast and comes in plain and light i usually buy the light it feels thinner to paint with. but in general I use little paint and I like the smooth finish touch. So even after I've finish each step I use a very fine wand brush to smooth things out.
